What’s for dinner at the White house? (Week of Oct. 24)

This is a fairly low key week.  We don’t have many ‘social engagements’ if you will, so we’re eating in most meals.  I was a little daunted when I started meal planning, because that’s a whole lot of meals to come up with!

  • Lunch – out with friends
  • Dinner – Tofu Makhani, we tweaked this recipe a bit but it was pretty tasty.  Next time we might use veggies instead of the tofu to lighten it up some…or at least make us think we’re lightening it up anyway. (c:
  • Lunch – tofu makhani
  • Dinner – Ethiopian-style chickpea stew – this was excellent.  we used the lower amount of cayenne, but it was still pretty spicy.  I definitely suggest serving with a bread of some sort (we used a whole wheat pita) to help mitigate the heat.
  • Lunch – stew
  • Dinner – pizza with red onion, tomato and kale
  • Lunch – pizza
  • Dinner – hot dogs (imported from NY) and french fries
  • Lunch – stew
  • Dinner – black bean and sweet potato burritos with corn
  • Lunch – burritos
  • Dinner – whole wheat pasta with butternut squash, butter and sage
  • Lunch & Dinner – refrigerator clean out and improvise
